Abstract: | The area covered by the Baron EL, located approximately 300km north west of Alice Springs and 80km NNE of Yuendumu, is being explored for economic gold mineralisation. Baron is part of the Arthur Hills Project which is held by Normandy NFM Ltd in Joint Venture with Normandy Tennant Creek Pty Ltd. Normandy NFM Ltd are tenement managers. Exploration activities proposed for the Project area during 1999 were completed during the 2000 field season, including reconnaissance aircore drilling and reconnaissance/infill CRC/lag sampling. Work completed during the 2000 field season revealed that a high proportion of the tenure contains overburden with a thickness in excess of 90 metres and as a result, these portions of tenure are being relinquished as part of compulsory 2nd year reductions. |
