Title: | Annual report on EL 8489 Johnnies Reward and The Pinnacles Prospects |
Title Holder / Company: | Flinders Diamonds |
Report id: | CR2000-0419 |
Tenure: | EL8489 |
Year: | 2000 |
Author: | Mackie, AW |
Abstract: | The report summarizes work carried out during the fifth year of tenure. Work includes review of previous exploration data, digitizing of the previously drill holes and sample locations, and validation of geological mapping. All geophysical datasets and Landsat/ Spot satellite images were re-evaluated and reinterpreted. The size and intensity of the main Johnnies Reward magnetic anomaly is not commensurate with the size of the cropping out gossan. The interpreted Transitional Alteration Zone is prospective for copper-gold mineralisation comprising discontinuous pods of geochemically anomalous gossanous skarn over a strike length of 1.5 km up to 150 m wide. The main Johnnies Reward magnetic anomaly has only been tested by three diamond holes in the past. Infill drilling is required to follow up the previous encouraging results. The AGSO IP anomaly occurring in the footwall of the Johnnies Reward gossan sequence and the Johnnies Reward North magnetic anomaly underlying a cropping out geochemically anomalous gossanous skarn require RAB drilling. Additional, four anomalies (apart from Johnnies Reward anomaly) were outlined in the area: Line 5600 (IP), Line 4800 (IP and EM), Southern Cross Bore (IP) and New Folly (EM). These anomalies require further testing. At Pinnacles RAB drilling program is needed to test for down dip extentions of the breccia zone hosted surface mineralisation. |
