Title: Third annual report on EL 7800, year ending 12 October 2000, Browns Range Project
Title Holder / Company: Anglogold
Report id: CR2000-0379
Tenure: EL7800
Year: 2000
Author: Spurway, C
Abstract: This report covers work completed in the third year of tenure. Exploration work included regolith studies, rock chip and soil sampling. The soil sampling completed outlined the number of anomalous results. Encouraging gold and base metals results have been identified in the southeastern portion of the tenement, including several values >1.4 ppb Au. Within the Black Bug sampling returned value of 18 ppb Au which was coincident with a Tellurium anomaly, other anomalies appear scattered along northsouth orientations to their interpreted stratigraphy. In the northern area a peak value of 2.1ppb Au occurs in the western margin. In the southern area the isolated values >1.4 ppb Au fail to provide any coherent anomalies. A lower tenor anomaly was found along the eastern edge. Rock chip sampling returned a peak value of 3ppb from the northern part, the remaining rock chip samples failed to detect any anomalous gold. Combined with previous results indicating anomalous nickel values (best intercept of 21m @ 0.3 5 Ni), the tenement is providing an exciting geological target and warrants further testing.
