Group annual report for EL 8546, EL 8893 and EL 9127, for the year ended 27 June 2000

Abstract

This report summarises exploration activities carried out during the reporting period within the project area. A geological interpretation was completed over the region utilising the geological traverses, detailed airborne geophysical and regional surveys. A several prospective areas were selected and have been tested by soil sampling. 513 soil samples were collected within EL 8893 and EL 9127 and tested for Au, As, Cu, Pb and Zn. The anomalous gold results (>10 ppb) in the north part of the EL 8893 appear to be associated with a NNW trending magnetic linear which is at a low angle to the magnetic stratigraphy. The immediate area of the anomaly is near a creek draining from several small mines, which may explain the anomalism. The anomalous results in the south part of EL 8893 also have a creek running through them. The two peak gold results (1.1 ppm Au and 1.07 ppm Au) from sampling program within EL 9127 line up with two previous results that are greater than 1 ppm Au. The results are located on an interpreted NNW trending fault structure, which offsets magnetic stratigraphy. No field work was completed within EL 8545.
