Abstract

The report presents exploration activities within the group reporting area. Historically the area was explored for diamonds only with some microdiamond recoveries, no base metal exploration activity is recorded. Work completed during the reporting period consists of stream sediment sampling and gravel sampling programs. Results from the stream sediment sampling returned anomalous metal values (145 ppm Zn and 175 ppm Pb ) in catchments draining the Plain Creek Formation at Brumby and Monsoon prospects. The structural setting at Monsoon and more particularly at Brumby is favourable for hosting a significant Zn-Pb deposit. Future exploration should focus on shallowly burred and untested Lawn Hill Formation in close proximity to major structures. The gravel samples collected from the sites where microdiamonds were recovered previously returned very poor results, only one microdiamond was recorded. No further diamond exploration is planned in the area.
