Title: | Annual mineral exploration report on EL 8517 Nardudi for year ending 9 January 2000 |
Title Holder / Company: | Tanami Gold |
Report id: | CR2000-0047 |
Tenure: | EL8517 |
Year: | 2000 |
Author: | Jones, R Mayer, T |
Abstract: | Most of the area is covered by aeolian/alluvial sand cover of unkown depth. Interpretation of the regional geology and the aeromagnetic images indicates the presence of a fault-bounded block of ENE trending elevated stratigraphy within the central part of the tenement. This is likely proterozoic basement of complexly folded Arunta Complex rocks throughout the tenement. Exploration activities during the third year of tenure involved geological mapping, regional soil sampling and LAG geochemical sampling. Results from soil sampling indicated low gold values averaging 0.04 ppb Au and 0.10 ppm As with peak resuts 0.13 ppb Au and 0.2 ppm As. Lag sampling resulted in low gold values averaging 0.4 ppb Au and 3 ppm As with peak values 1 ppb Au and 10 ppm As. Lag sampling did not define any areas of gold or arsenic anomalism. |
