dc.description.abstract | Initially the licence was examined for its diamond potential by loam and stream sediment sampling. Results returned ilmenite grains and a 0.003ct diamond. Follow up in the area where the diamond was recovered consisted of 16 stream sediment samples, which proved negative. At the same time as the diamond investigation was taking place, stream sediment samples were collected for geochemical analysis. Follow up concentrated on the Wongalara Prospect. A 1400x450m NE striking soil anomaly was defined (max 2290ppm Pb, 1190ppm Zn). Rock chip samples from the area returned a maximum value of 1.67% Pb, 2.3% Zn. This anomaly also coinsided with a dipole IP anomaly. The anomaly was later tested by diamond drilling. Although weak pb-Zn mineralisation was intersected, no further work is recomended. | en_US |
