A number of 200l drums of sand were collected from near sites E1 and E17 and shipped for characterization, metallurgy and recovery optimisation. This work has shown two populations - a red fraction derived from the Irindina Gneiss with a high degree of angularity. This grains also contain numerous inclusions including magnetite and quartz. A second fraction, purple-lilac, has been derived from the Riddock Amphibolite. These are proportionally more rounded, with less inclusions. The ratio of red: lilac is generally 7:3. 6 Samples were analysed for a variety of elements. The results are not considered as significant.en_US
