Two steeply dipping barite veins occur approximately 20 km north west of Kirrkimbie Station Homestead and 43 km west of Kirrkimbie Yard Barite Deposits. Access to the area is along station roads from Kirrkimbie Station and then along prospecting vechicle tracks. Access is also possible from the Duncan Highway. The two veins are roughly parallel and are approximately 1.5 km apart. The most eastern vein crosses the headwater of Lee's Creek and is referred to as the 'Lee's Creek Lode'. Its average thickness strike is NNW and it has a total length of 4.7 km. The western vein crosses the headwater of Forrest Creek and is referred to as the 'Forrest Creek Lode'. Its average strike is NW and its total length is 6 km. Both Lodes appear to be lenticular, with numerous well defined lenses along their length. For the convenience of survey work, each Lode was divided into Sections (a), (b), (c) etc starting from the southern end of each Lode and proceeding northerly.en_US
