Exploration Licence 4942 was granted to Minscope Pty Ltd on the 1st of October 1986 for a six year period. It is situated on the Bonney Well 1:250 000 sheet area and occupies an area of some 225 square kilometres. The area has some areas of low hills surrounded by sandy plains. Spinifex cover with scrubby bushes predominate with some areas of dense turpentine and Casuarina. Minor drainage towards the west exists in the area but any rain in the 'wet season' between November and May renders the area inaccessible to vehicles. Considerable exploration has been carried out in the area since 1973. This exploration was directed at Tennant Creek type orebodies which are amenable to discovery using magnetic methods. To this end the area was flown using aeromagnetic techniques. Ground magnetics, geological mapping and drilling followed. No significant gold values were detected In this area or in surrounding areas except for one value, which when followed up did not repeat. Mineral tenements were pegged over various prospects at the time, but were relinquished eventually. The present programme was mainly directed at literature research, followed by sampling of selected areas. No anomalous gold or arsenic values were encountered.en_US
