Geological report on EL 4739 Arltunga Harts Range Region

Abstract

This report presents the results of field work undertaken on the Hale River Project (E 4739) during March 1987. El 4739 hosts six groups of old workings. These were completed during early prospecting for gold. The exploration programme consisted of helicopter and ground traverse, rock chip sampling, mapping and petrology. The progranne of exploration was a technical success. The potential for a series of moderate, high-grade orebodies exploitable by underground methods is good. There is also potential for near-surface (say within 100 m) mineralization amenable to open cut mining. Further work should include reconnaissance drilling.
