dc.description.abstractThe Metropolitan Howley area is located 140km south east of Darwin. It is covered by Exploration Licence 4226. An earlier report by this author outlines the rnining and exploration history of the area and describes the results of geological mapping and stream sediment sampling which was completed in mid 1983. A follow-up programme of trenching was recommended to test a zone of potential quartz-vein stockwork mineralisation and the grade and thickness of alluvial deposits in the area. This report briefly describes the results of this trenching and suggests a course for future exploration.en_US
