Annual report on EL 2075 Brocks Creek

Abstract

EL 2075 was granted to MR Limited on the 16 August 1979 for a period of twelve months. An application for a further twelve months has been submitted. During the period 16 August 1979 to 16 August 1980 the Exploration Licence was subjected to a programme of geological mapping, rock chip sampling, gridding and radiometric traversing. The geology of EL 2075 consists of a sequence of Lower Proterozoic Sediments, belonging to the Mount Partridge Group and South Alligator Group, that have been domed up.by an early Carpentarian Granite. Prior to the intrusion of the granite the sediments were intruded by a swarm of doleritic sills. Thirty-one (31) rock chip samples were collected and assayed for Cu, Pb, Zn and U. Seventeen (17) samples were also assayed for As and Au. A total of sixty and a half (60.5) line kilometres of gridding were emplaced. Radiometric traverses were carried out over all east-west grid lines.
