During 1974, a programme of diamond drilling and detailed mapping at Cook's Prospect and a limited programme of soil geochemistry, IP resistivity and semi-regional mapping in the Coxco Valley. This programme is part of a continuing detailed exploration programme begun in 1972 along the Emu Fault Zone, between the Cooley prospects and the Amelia areas. The 1974 programme was confined to an area between the Cook's prospect and Amelia Creek, including the Cook's Cox's, Turnbull and Squib prospects.en_US

In 1972 soil sampling on a 50m by 50m grid was commenced over the northern end of the Coxco Dome and approximately 760 samples were assayed for copper, lead and zinc. The southern boundary of this survey was approximately an east - west line drawn through the Turnbull prospect and a major +500 ppm zinc, +100 ppm lead anomaly delineated during the survey was not closed to the south. In 1974 this anomaly was closed to the south on a 50 m by 50 m sample grid; the area between the Turnbull and Squib prospects was covered by a 50m by 50m sample grid; and a thin strip covering the Mara Dolomite and the Mitchell Yard Dolomite Members, between the Squib prospect and Amelia Creek was covered by soil sampling at 25m sample spacing on 200m spaced lines. The object of the sampling south of the Squib prospect was to cover two stream geochemical anomalies designated Anomaly A and B, outlined during the 1970 programme (Harris and Wilkinson, 1971). Approximately 760 soil samples were collected during 1974 from a depth of 15cm and were sieved to -80 mesh on site prior to being assayed for copper, lead and zinc using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy by Mount Isa Mines Limited.en_US
