Abstract: The Yeuralba Mineral Field consisting of 30 known wolfram and tin lodes provides major targets for development of large, low grade, open cut mining operations. The western lode system known as the Yeuralba Wolfram Belt contains 17 wolfram lodes extending over two and a half miles, and of these, 9 are recommended for further testing or bulk mining. The Gates Claim Body is the largest with surface dimensions of at least 1700 ft. x 400 ft. Rising over 200 ft. above Yeuralba Creek, it forms an excellent target for preliminary testing, with an ore potential of at least 45,000 tons per vertical foot. we can estimate over 10,000,000 tons of lode down to 100 ft. below the proposed adit level, or 270 ft. below the highest point. With this large ore potential to shallow depth, a preliminary feasibility study was undertaken. This exercise indicated that a profitable operation could be established at a grade of 0.3% WO3 per ton.
