Annual report for MCNs 877-882 & 917 Zapopan, Brocks Creek NT

Abstract

Reconnisance mapping and photogeological interpretation has located parasitic folding on the flanks of the main Zapopan structure. These folds have been traced through the area covered by MCN's 877-882, 917 and are found to parallel the main structure. No economically significant results have so far been returned for the mineral claims area. Within the bounds of NCN's 877-882, and 917 provisional mapping and photogeological interpretaton has been conducted. This work has helped in understanding more about the nature and style of folding associated with the central Zapopan structure. Insofar as definition of any potential economic deposit, no encouraging results have been received from these areas, and nearby rock chip and stream sediment samples have also failed to locate any anomolous zones. The alluvial/eluvial potential of the claims has not been considered in any detail. The close proximity of known auriferous reefs would suggest that there is every possibility of such a resource. Insufficient data has been collected to draw any conclusions concerning the economic potential of the mineral claim areas, however the contribution to the understanding of the major Zapopan structure is significant.
