Title Holder / Company: Zapopan
Report id: CR1988-0027

Author: Truelove, AJ
Abstract: E.L's 2459 (Stow Creek), 2204 (Flying Fox), 2933 (Phillips Creek) and 2935 (Horseshoe Creek) are held by Zapopan NL. A joint venture between The Shell Company of Australia Limited and Zapopan NL officially commenced on 1st February, 1987, with Shell acting as Manager of the project. The joint venture documents however were not signed until late 1987. Permission was granted to Zapopan and Billiton by the Northern Territory Department of Mines and Energy (NTDME) to regard the four EL's as a single project area for the purposes of reporting, work commitments and relinquishments, with the end of year two deemed to be 28th January, 1989. This report documents the work carried out by The Shell Company of Australia from February, 1987 on all four EL's even though a report on EL 2459 (Stow Creek) has already been prepared and forwarded to the NTDME. At this stage areas A, B, C and E appear to be the areas with the best potential for economic gold mineralisation. It is recommended that these areas be followed up with gridding, grid mapping, soil sampling and rock chip sampling/petrology with a view to defining drill targets by the second half of 1988. A programme of further follow-up on the remaining anomalies will be conducted in conjunction with the above work.
