dc.description.abstractMetana Minerals NL has negotiated a production agreement with Northern Gold NL on tenements in the Rowley area of the Pine Creek Geosyncline. Initial work, including water supply investigations, surveying, costean cutting and panned concentrate sampling has been directed toward supporting the establishment of an alluvial gold processing facility. This initial objective was achieved when the plant went into full-scale production on 24 September 1986. Subsequent exploration has been directed at further evaluation of the gravel resource and has involved further panned concentrate sampling, costean cutting, auger drilling, air photo interpretation and a geontrphological study. A considerable resource of auriferous gravel has been identified.en_US
