Abstract

The results of previous investigation, including exploration by Geopeko, Nord Resources and Newmont were discussed in detail in the previous annual report. In the first licence year, Billiton undertook a literature review and assessment of previous exploration, reconnaissance field visits and rock chip sampling, low altitude aeromagnetic survey and preliminary interpretation of the aeroginagnetic data. The present exploration programme included detailed magnetic and radiometric interpretation, and stream sediment sampling over the entire EL area. Upon further consideration, it was decided not to implement a previous recommendation for soil sampling in the Lancewood Knoll area, and the area was consequently included in the relinquished

parts of the original EL.
