Annual report year ending 20/06/1984, EL 4183 Cox Peninsula-Bynoe Joint Venture.

Abstract

During 1983 Greenbushes Tin Ltd attracted a joint venture partner, Barbara Mining Corporation Ltd, a subsidiary of Bayer A.G. LEVERKUSEN, West Germany. The joint venture has undertaken an extensive exploration programme in the Cox Peninsula Area centred on EL 4183. This work has been based on: 1) Establishment of a Permanent Base Camp, 2) Mapping of pegmatites, 3) Surveying, 4) Trenching, 5) Auger Drilling. During 1984-85 the Joint Venture has an exploration commitment to carry out a detailed evaluation of all pegmatites within its exploration licence areas on the Cox Peninsula. Most important of these is EL 4183. The support facilities for this project were established in May - June 1984 and exploration including auger drilling and trenching commenced in late May. Although there are no results to report at this stage a detailed assessment of the Ore Reserves within the Licence Area will be available at the end of the second year of tenure of this exploration licence.
