Exploration Licence 676 covers an area of 220 square kilometres and is located in the Red Bluff area; 20 km west of Tennant Creek. This report should be read in conjunction with the Annual Exploration Report for the year ended 14th November, 1973. Exploration work during the period consisted of anomaly location, surveying, gridding and magnetometry. This work was carried out on the following prospects; magnetic anomalies RB7 and RB17. Contract surveyors were used to lay-in baselines and for gridding. This was made necessary by the severe shortage of suitable labour. Access to the area was curtailed by the onset of the extended, record 1973 - 74 wet season. A permanently marked baseline was surveyed in; the argridded at l00m x l00m intervals and ground magnetometry completed. The grid was covered with total force magnetometry. Reduction and compilation of the data obtained is in progress.Further work - Following data compilation the results will be interpreted. Magnetic Anomaly RB 17. This prospect is located 31.2 km west-northwest of Tennant Creek and 5.4 km west-southwest of Red Bluff trig. It lies 1 km due east of magnetic anomaly RB 7 and access is by the same graded track which passes through the grid area. Anomaly Location, Gridding and Maqnetometry - This anomaly occurs as a flexure on an aeromagnetic gradient and was defined by the 1973 airborne geophysical survey. It was located by reconnaissance ground traverses. Gridding at l00m x l00m intervals was in progress at the end of the period. The grid is on the same surveyed baseline as was established for RB 7. Further Work - The grid area will be read with total force magnetometry on completion of gridding. Surveying - Surveying of baselines in preparation for gridding and magnetometry at several other prospects in EL 676 is in progress.en_US
