dc.description.abstract | The report sets out exploration results obtained during the quarter ended 20th December 1973. Stream sediment sampling has outlined several anomalous areas. A number of lead (minor zinc) anomalies occur along a N-S line along the Emu Fault Zone. Some of these can be attributed to known mineralisation and are marked by old workings, eg; Cooks, Coxs, Turnbulls and Squib. Several copper anomalies have been detected to the west of this line of Pb-Zn anomalies. General mapping and prospecting has been carried out to determine the cause of the anomalies. Pb occurs as galena in dolomite. Two anomalous copper areas (Cattle Creek and Cowdreys Copper) found the only outcropping rocks in the area to be dolomites. The soil anomaly suggests it's stratabound, and evaluation of data is continuing before deciding on further exploration in the area. | en_US |
