1973 Report on prospecting EL 158

Abstract

Radiometric exploration in EL 158 was largely confined to detailed investigations, including mapping and rotary/ percussion drilling, of three (Anomalies 8, 9 and 16) of the thirteen weak airborne anomalies detected during the 1971 airborne survey. Detailed mapping, stream sediment geochemistry and rotary/percussion drilling were carried out on the Watershed Anomaly. Two new base/precious metal prospects, Zones 5 and 6, were found, mapped and soil sampled. Mapping and soil sampling was undertaken over two areas, Zones 3 and 4, with anomalous zinc and silver rock values. Soil geochemistry, detailed mapping and a Turam Electromagnetic Survey were carried out over base metal prospects Zones 1 and 2, and two diamond holes were drilled in the latter. Regional geological mapping and a regional stream sediment survey were completed. Regional radiometric prospecting was carried out in conjunction with the above work.
