Final report for exploration licence 7706 Sargents area, Batchelor Northern Territory 23-03-92 to 22-03-99

Abstract

The licence was explored by stream and soil sampling, and followed up by costeaning which intersected up to 21m @ 2.26 g/t Au. RC drilling was completed along 100m spaced sections; better results include 4m @2.1 g/t Au and 26m @ 1.85 g/t Au from surface. Additional soil sampling outlined the Sargents North and Hardtop Prospects. RC drilling at Sargents North outlined a small resource of gold mineralisation, probably 20,000 to 30,000 tonnes of 3 g/t Au with associated Pt and Pd. At Hardtop Prospect, RAB and RC drilling outlined an Au, Pt, Pd anomalous zone. Deep diamond drilling for structural and straigraphic information intersected thick, to 200m haematitic breccias which were weakly anomalous in Au.
