Abstract

During the 1991 field season a regional geochemical survey consisting of 529 soil and 51 rock chip samples was undertaken as well as a programme of gridded soil sampling (1131 samples) over previously defined anomalous zones. A total of 17371m of RAB drilling was undertaken on Redbank Rise, Dogbolter and Jim's find Prospects. The drill programme a Red Bank Rise returned a best intercept of 4m at 6.7g-t Au. The overall results from the Redbank Rise Programme suggests a series of structurally controlled pool mineralisation over a limited strike length. Strike of mineralisation appears to be 070 degrees with an easterly dip 40-60. Encouraging results were received from the drill programme at Dogbolter and Jim's find prospects. A maximum assay of 2m at 12.85 g-t Au was intercepted at Dogbolter appears associated with a zone of quartz- haematite-limonite breccia with a true width of 12-14 m striking north with an easterly dip of N70 degrees. At Jim's Find the drill programme returned a maximum assay of 4m at 5.8g-t Au, as well as 56m at 3.1 g-t Au. The main zone of mineralisation appears to be N30m true width with a subvertical dip with a surface zone of depletion. Mineralisation is associated with a zone of narrow quartz veining. Mineralisation appears associated with a NNW striking steeply westerly dipping fault. Kevron flew in 04-1991 approximately 2000 flight km aeromagnetic survey and 200m line space 2000m tie lines and terrain clearance 60m.
