| Abstract: | During the 1996/97 field season, Northern Gold completed an MMI geochemical soil sampling programme and an RC drilling programme. 437 MMI soil samples including duplicates were collected on a 20 x 200m grid over the Douglas Creek gold anomaly. Sampling outlined a NW trending anomaly open to the SE, with a peak value of 26ppb Au. 8 RC drill holes were drilled over the MMI soil anomaly. Results were disappointing, however a zone of low grade gold mineralisation hosted by haematitic mudstone and graphitic shale was intersected on RC section 8537900N. |
