Abstract: | In the initial phase of sampling 467 samples were collected. This programme highlighted a large but discrete microdiamond anomaly. This anomaly was defined by 17 positive samples, and is in an area of poor drainage. The microdiamonds are assumed to have been shed from a secondary source such as the Bunda Grit. Separate chromite anomalies are believed to be sourced in the Antrim Plateau Volcanics. A follow up sampling programme concentrated on the head waters of Maud Creek. This programme consisted of 30 stream sediment-loam samples and 6 bulk samples. This programme failed to identify the source of the microdiamond population. Structural features reported include: Hardman Basin. |
