EL 4880 (Rum Jungle), report for the area relinquished 30-10-1992

Abstract

Known base metal mineralisation is located close to the contact between the Coomalie Dolomite and the Whites Formation. The area being relinquished covers basement and and the overlying Crater Formation. Although radiometric anomalies occur in both geological units they are not considered prospective for base metal mineralisation which occurs in units stratigraphically above. Only limited ground reconnaissance was undertaken in this area since tenure to verify original geological mapping and previous exploration data. Ten blocks were relinquished at the end of the third year of tenure.
