This report documents work carried out on EL 4895 during the second year of tenure. Radiometric anomalies, identified during the 1986 field season at White Ridge and Windgap Prospects, were tested by some l971m of perrussion and diamond drilling. Additional ground magnetic, radiometric and soil geochemical surveys were completed at Black Rock locality. At White Ridge Prospect, 13 percussion holes, totalling 1138m, were drilled on four sections across the eastern flank of the quartz ridge. One percussion-collared dianond hole was drilled to a depth of l74m under the centre of Anomaly 2. Four percussion-collared diamond drillholes, totalling 833m, were drilled at widely-spaced locations on Windgap Prospect. The holes were sited on ROAC ananalies, where ground magnetics and CRAE drilling results together indicated the presence of major shears and/or deep weathering. All of the holes intersected a red porphyritic granite, similar to that described by CRAE. Black Rock, referred to in an earlier report as 'Railway Ridge' is located near the eastern margin of the Warrego Granite, about 4km northeast along the proposed railisay line from the Last Hope Mine. At this prospect rock chip samples from ferruginous outcrop showed elevated copper and uranium levels (up to 875 and 40 ppm respectively). These values are not represented.en_US
