Annual Report on EL 4901 in the vicinity of Copperfield Year 1.

Abstract

No comprehensive exploration programme has previously been carried out on the permit. There is evidence of prospecting and a limited amount of mining in three areas. One of the mining areas on the eastern side of the EL is believed to have been for gold and between 150 to 200 tones of ore appears to have been mined. During 1986-87 an exploration programme consisting of the following was carried out: a) Auger drilling b) Churn drilling c) Costeaning d) Chip sampling e) Stream sediment sampling f) Self potential survey During the year access roads were upgraded and constructed to enable much easier access throughout the Licence area.
