Work to date has indicated the distribution of the Van Diemen Sandstone is less extensive than indicated on the available geological mapping. 3 auger holes and 217 bores totalling 5565m. Work at Cache Point revealed material that appeared bauxitic. 2 samples were analysed returning values to 57% AL203. Meanwhile at Lethbridge Bay kaolinitic material was encountered. Analysis suggested it was suitable for the production of Kaolin. The most significant accumulation of heavy mineral sands located were at Rinamatta Beach. No economic heavy mineral accumulations were located.en_US
