Abstract

The area has a highly anomalous geophysical signature. This area is likely to have been active until the Carboniferous Alice Springs Orogeny. Basement structures appear to carry through the rock cover whose type appear to be suitable for Mississippi Valley type mineralisation. The Ooratippra High contains a number of superimposed anomalies which likely relate to structures within the sedimentary rocks. There also appears to be a number of similarities between the licence area and Olympic Dam. These similarities point to significant potential mineralisation-the interpreted depth to basement may be a deterrent. More geophysics is justified to define the anomaly and determine the depth to basement.
