L 4935 was held to search for an economically viable gypsum deposit. Attention had focused in the vicinity of Lake Sylvester near Brunette Downs Station. Gypsum had been located in creek beds, creek banks on the lake floor and during excavation of a dam sunk into the floor of Lake Sylvester. Exploration drilling (see CR1988-0231) along the bank of Brunette Downs Creek failed to intersect gypsum of sufficient quantity or quality to justify further work. The EL was surrendered in full.en_US
