Title: Annual Report on EL South Alligator area Project 829.
Title Holder / Company: Fisher, WJ

Abstract: This report indicates the licence is prospective for uranium as basal parts of the Koolpin Formation occur in the area. A comparison with the Barote Prospect also suggests black shale may underly Cretaceous cover and form a similar environment. A broad EM anomaly is located in a Cretaceous basin and should be drilled.
The area of permit is 31158 square miles. Two refraction probes combined with a 18.4km 600% covered reflection line were carried out in OP 156 as an extension to the Volsella Shoal Seismic Survey. The objectives of this survey were to evaluate the true position of the basement under the Mesozoic and Tertiary sediments and give some valuable velocity information about the geological section. A 600% coverage reflexion test gave an appropriate means of comparison together with the refraction results and VSRP2 and the reflexion sparker method. Quality of results is good. High velocity has been found corresponding to a supposed Proterozoic but locally a Paleozoic datation on sediments of intermediate velocity though possible could not be ascertained.
