Report on relinquished parts of EL 1701 and EL 1219, Rum Jungle Project.

Abstract

This report outlines the exploration activities of Marathon Petroleum Australia, Ltd on the relinquished portions of Exploration Licences 1219 and 1701 in the Rum Jungle area of the Northern Territory. These Licences were granted to International Mining Corporation NL in 1977 and 1978. During 1979 and 1980 Marathon Petroleum Australia, Ltd carried out exploration on behalf of International Mining Corporation NL under the terms of a Joint Venture Agreement. Work on the relinquished areas has included interpretation of airborne geophysical data, a photogeological interpretation, radon gas sampling, rock and soil geochemical sampling and some Track-Etch survey work.
