EL 337, exploration report for the year 1972-73.

Abstract

EL 337 is being explored for limestone. During 1972, gridded surface sampling was carried out over the southeast portion of the licence. Of 91 samples tested for reaction with 10% HCl, 18 samples were sent for assay. Gridded sampling was resumed in February 1973 after a heavy Wet Season. Samples were collected over the southwestern part of the EL. All 138 of the samples collected failed to pass the preliminary 10% HCl test. A proposed drilling program was abandoned due to a late start, mechanical problems and higher priority targets on other ELs. Instead, surface sampling was resumed, this time in the northeast. Of 65 samples, 25 were deemed suitable for further assays. A revised drilling program was planned for the period of renewal.
