Final Report for Upper Daly Project EL 9626

Abstract

7/6/99: During year 1, 57 reconnaissance heavy minerals drainage samples were collected, about half of which contained chromites derived from the Edith Creek volcanics. Two chromite occurrences were followed up by 23 stream sediment samples and again chromites from the Edith Creek volcanics were obtained whilst a further 2 chromites of interest were recovered. A further 61 samples were collected which verified the original unusual chromite samples, however no other kimberlitic indicator and no microdiamonds were recovered hence the area was downgraded.
