Exploration Licence No. 4927 'Mount Bundey' is located 85Km east-southeast from Darwin, in the Northern Territory. Work by Carpentaria Exploration Company Pty Ltd (CEC) resulted in the discovery of the Tom's Gully gold deposit within EL4927 in the first year of tenure. This report is written to fulfill Government reporting requirements and to provide a record for the company. It deals with exploration work carried out in the third year of the licence, by Carpentaria Gold Pty Ltd. Gold stream sediment anomalies were followed up in six areas Quest 36, Bamboo Creek, Henry's Prospect, Ten O'clock Prospect, fence-line and Block 'X'. In each case follow-up work consisted of repeat stream sediment sampling and reconnaissance rock chipping. Addition prospecting was done at Henry's Prospect: reconnaissance soil sampling, 340m of costeaning and 487m percussion drilling. The percussion drilling had a peak gold intersection of 0.68 g/t x Im. The stream anomalies around Quest 36 were confirmed and a 10Gm x 5Gm grid was surveyed in over the prospect to aid orientation during future work. Block V was soil sampled at 50m x 200m interval. This gave one gold anomaly which was later shown to be spurious. The stream sediment anomalies in Bamboo Creek not repeated. An extension of time prior to halving the licence area on the second anniversary was given until 17th September 1988. The licence area was halved as scheduled on the third anniversary, 17th June 1989.en_US
