The mineral claims cover ground northwest of Dominion's Woolwonga prospect. Previous investigations have shown that anomalous gold mineralization occurs in bedrock on both anticlinal and synclinal fold structures, and in fault zones beneath extensive overburden. During 1988 Dominion completed a program 'of soil sampling, mapping, rock chip sampling, rotary air blast (RAB) drilling and costeaning throughout the property. The soil sampling program outlined two zones of coincident gold and arsenic anomalies near the Bowerbird workings, One anomalous zone follows a south trending pisolitic ridge which disappears beneath 'black soils', while the other zone lies to the east of the Bowerbird prospect and is open to the north. No anomalous assay results were received for the claim line soil sampling except for one value of 1.77 ppm on the eastern boundary of MCN 2132. Rock chip sampling returned several anomalous assays including 0.99, 0.86 and 2.06 ppm Au. A RAB drill program, totalling 3063m, tested anomalous zones outlined by the soil sampling program. Results from the RAB program indicated a zone of low grade mineralization. Costeaning across this linear zone provided structural and stratigraphic data below a pisolitic soil profile, over Mt Bonnie Formation lithologies. Quartz veining and clays are common in shear zones parallel to the subvertical cleavage. Exploration by Dominion in 1989 will focus on better defining the subsurface structures by further RAE drilling, magnetic survey and a scout RCP drilling program of anomalous zones to test mineralization at depth. The soil sampling program, RAB drilling and costeaning have shown a northwest trending linear zone of anomalous gold mineralization that occurs along a low pisolitic ridge west of the Bowerbird Prospect. Structural and stratigraphic interpretation from the costeans places this anomaly within the Mt Bonnie Formation/Gerowie Tuft transitional zone. Sulphide mineralization has been observed within both anticlinal and synclinal fold structures, with the highest assay values usually related to quartz vein stockwork within strong shear zones. Exploration proposed by Dominion for the 1989 program comprises: (i) An aero-magnetic survey to delineate dolerite sills and geological structure (ii) northward extension of the soil sampling program (iii) further RAB drilling of anomalous zones and (iv) a scout RCP drilling program of anomalous zones to test mineralization at depth.en_US
