Abstract: | This report details exploration activity carried out within the EL in the year to March, 1988. Activities included gradient-array IP, geological mapping and traverse R.C. percussion drilling of prospects initially defined by rock-chip and soil sampling. The EL is almost entirely occupied by units of the Proterozoic Burrell Creek Formation, namely quartzo-feldspathic wackes, phyllites, siltstones and rare conglomerates of diverse provenance. Structurally, the Howley Anticline and subsidiary, parallel folds dominate the licence. The target prospects consist of stockwork ('? S2 dominated) and/or saddle-and-leg quartz veining within wackes and phyllites, often localised on anticlinal axes. Several of the prospects discussed in this report lie within the area presently being sought for the Bundey Mining Lease (Goodall Gold Project). Expenditure on this EL during the reporting period was $250,204. |
