L 909 was granted to AFMECO in 1974 to explore for uranium under a thick sand cover. It was to complement other holdings, namely adjacent ELs 820 and 821 where an airborne radiometrics and magnetics had been acquired. Quotes were obtained for drilling but in 1974, all private company uranium exploration in NT was curtailed by Government action. AFMECO surrendered the licence in March 1976.en_US
