Abstract: | 1. A ground investigation of 42 anomalies delineated from an airborne spectrometer survey by Geophysical Resources Development has been completed. 2. No economic uranium mineralisation has been located. 3. Anomalous radioactivity is due to thorium concentration with minor associated uranium. It often takes the form of monazite. 4. Thorium and uranium concentrations are usually related to granite complexes, acid volcanics, laterites and placer deposits. 5. It is considered that no further work is warranted on Prospecting Authority 1965 and that it should be relinquished. |
