Abstract: | AtP 1852 covers four square miles in the vicinity of Nobles Nob. A microgravity anomaly detected in a previous survey by Australian Development in 1965 under what was then AtP 1131 was wagon drilled at the time but failed to reveal any economic ore. The microgravity was reinterpreted and, when combined with a magnetometer traverse, and the presence of hydrothermal alteration within a mapped shear suggested the possibility of a deep primary non-magnetic haematite body. Two vertical diamond drillholes, each in excess of 1000 feet, tested the anomaly but failed to intersect any economic mineralisation in the greywacke-type sedimentary rocks. No core or assays were provided and the holes are only located on a local grid. |
