Abstract

A programme of geochemical stream sediment, BLEG and rock chip sampling were carried out to investigate moderately anomalous base metal values and occurrences of particulate baryte, galena and gold. The area of interest is underlain by Roper Group sediments. The anomalous results of the 1991 programme were not enhanced, and in several instances the potential suggested by the reconnaissance results could not be substantiated. It is therefore recomended that no further work be carried out in these targets. On the other hand, there is a possibility of Pb, Zn, Cu, Ba mineralisation related to the Corcoran Formation and further exploration is recommended. Elevated Ag values in 2 other areas provide targets of lower priority.
