Abstract

A review of the 1983 aeromagnetic survey data revealed a major basement structure similar to that associated with the McArthur Basin Pb-Zn-Ag deposit. The available photography and Thematic Mapper scene over the licence area were studied to select dtructural geomorhic features which could further define the conceptual target. A comprehensive review of previous work was also completed, together with a field inspection in order to map parts of the area and to conduct trials to determine the magnrtometer resolution to be used. As there is little outcrop in the area, a geophysical technique will be needed to identify and delineate any sub-basins associated with the prospective basin structure. Since the JV agreement, BHP were assessing possible geophysical techniques that could be used.
