Second annual report on Union Consilidated SEL 8497 for year ending 20-04-1996

Abstract

Exploration work included gridding, geological mapping, soil and stream sediment sampling, and the reprocessing and interpretation of multiclient aeromagnetic data. 490 soil samples were collected and a comprehensive review of the stream sediment sampling data (from previous explorers) was undertaken. Gold values were subdued in general though at the North East end of one of the lines a number of values (maximum 265ppb Au) were obtained. The reprocessing of the geophysical data has identified a large magnetically high feature in the southern portion of the licence area along with several better defined discrete magnetic features in the central and northern portions of the licence. All open file geochemical data from the area was entered into micromine.
