Abstract

EL 6805 is located south of the eastern end of Bynoe Harbour. Exploration work has concentrated on assessing the known tin/tantalite mineralised pegmatites, on exploring for new mineralised pegmatites, and on assessing the potential of the alluvial systems in the area. The work carried out involved the location and sampling of the Bear and Wolf pegmatite, prospecting the ower Leviathan Creek alluvial, and locating terraces round the Bear and Wolf pegmatite containing sub-economic grades of tin and tantalite. Surface prospecting was concentrated on the laterite covered area to the north of the Leviathan South mine. The extensive ground prospecting failed to locate additional pegmatites. The company decided to erect a gravity plant on the adjacent 'Annie' tenements, which will be usd to conduct bulk testing of the tin/tantalite resources.
