The principal base metal exploration potential is in the south-eastern part of the area, where a complex Joint Venture tenement situation exists, and efforts are being pressed to explore the area as one geological entity. Owing to the apparent deep targets within the licence area, a philosophy has been adopted by the joint venture to proceed with detailed revised mapping of the outcrops supported by fossil age determination and stratigraphic drilling in the eastern marginal part of the area. This approach led to the drilling of four deep stratigraphic holes (NBB 1001, 5001, 5002, 5003) outside the EL which strongly reflects the target potential in the area along a structural 'high' aligned between drill holes NBB 5003 and Spirit Hill No1. Stratigraphic drilling is programmed to the west of NBB 5001 during 1982. Field mapping in the area, supported much by B.M.R age datation of samples intersected in drill holes and re-confirmation of outcrops, has led to a review and re-interpretation of much of the work documented by Veevers and Roberts (B.M.R Bull. 97). This regional synthesis of all revised geology outside EL 2337 and other EL's will be reported in contiguity in the annual report on the Mineral Claims, which is customarily forwarded to the Department. Revised outcrop mapping and stratigraphic drilling adjacent to the licence has established a prominent northerly trending structural 'high' in the south-eastern corner of the licence area. Results from the 1981 activities have provided significant encouragement for further exploration. Follow-up stratigraphic drilling in 1982 is proposed approximately 1 km. to the west or north-west of hole NBB 5001 at a location accessible for deep drilling. $15099.60 spent in the 12 month period.en_US
