1977 Annual report on EL 1137 Burnside East.

Abstract

Work on the Burnside East EL 1137 during the first year of tenure consisted of regional geological mapping and gossan search. This has served to reduce the prospective area from 133 km2 to about 20 km2 or about 15% of the original. Future work will be concentrated in the S.W. part of the EL. CRA Exploration applied for an exploration licence of 51.4 square miles in the Ban Ban locality of the Pine Creek 1:250,000 map sheet SD52-8 on 4th August 1975. Location is shown on Plan NTd 637. Title was granted by the NT Administration on 14th July 1976. Exploration during the first year of tenure is the subject of this report. Mapping has reduced area of interest to 20km2 where the above rocks outcrop. Future work should be concentrated in the S.W. of the EL over the outcrop of the George Creek, Koolpin and Douglas Creek Formations.
