During 1975, work for base metals exploration conducted over EL 674 was divided into three areas. These are Weaber Lagoon, South Sandy Creek and Alpha Hill areas. A small portion of the Weaber Lagoon area was covered by dipole-dipole survey with no promosing result. One rotary hole was drilled intersection a thick sequence of silty and sandy dolomite. Zinc assays from the drill hole samples ranged from 1.35 to 2.65%. In the South Sandy Bay Creek area, an IP anomaly was tested with drilling. Selected drillhole samples were assayed for base metals mineralisation with little encouraging result. In the Alpha Hill area, a drilling compaigne was undertaken to test the mineralised sandstone (1 to 2.40% lead). Two rotary holes were drilled which reached a mineralisaed friable sandstone, intersecting low grade galena and up to 30% pyrite mineralisation. Geological and gamma logs of some holes are included in the report.en_US
